Level: Intermediate (Distance plus climbs in Namwonri Village)

Navigation: Pretty Easy, very little street traffic---bike specific paths and mountain roads--but getting from Paldalgyo to the Chilgok bike path is a little bit of a pain right now

Distance estimate roundtrip to downtown: 30 miles-ish/ 48km-ish

Points of reference/interest: Hajungdo, Paldalgyo, Dongmyeong Reservoir, Songnimsa Namwonri Village

Feeling like getting in touch with your inner mountain goat and hitting some village mountain passes?

Heading up to Dongmyeong Reservoir we can get a few more spots of interest in and get some road climbing in.

Just past Dongmyeong Resevoir there are some quiet little village and mountain roads that jut off towards the left (not the busy high-way like road marked in yellow on Naver map)---behind the suspension bridge and to the left.

One of the roads will take you to a temple complex called Songnimsa (Songnim Temple) and is worth a look around.

Another of those roads heads north and is quiet and peaceful with a mountain, rest stop overlooking a stream, and then a 10 percent climb up into Namwonri Villiage where there are some very steep climbs---you might even see some mountain goats on your way up.

Inside Namwonri Village, you can keep climbing up to the right and get some views or keep heading up North towards Dabu. Or you can take the road to the right in Namwonri (you'll know because it will be flat after your climbs) and this will connect over to the roads near Palgonsan.
